LIFE COACHING WITH SARAH LITVINOFF SARAH ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS
|
WHY DO YOU COACH ON THE TELEPHONE?I find it’s the most intimate way of working. We get to know each fast without distractions. It’s also the most efficient use of your time. You don’t have to factor in travelling, and although I live in London you don’t have to be in the same city or even the same country as me. And it allows for flexibility — I start coaching at 7am, and some of my busier clients appreciate the convenience of being able to begin a full day with an inspirational session. You can also fit in a session at work so long as you can find a quiet space. |
WHAT ARE YOUR METHODS? HOW WILL YOU COACH ME?My aim is to tailor our work together to suit your personality, your needs, and what you want to achieve. I don’t work the same way with any two clients. Until we’ve talked I won’t know what’s the key to bringing out the best in you. The free 30-minute introductory call will give you a sense of how I coach, and will allow me to find out what approach would best work for you. My main objective is to find out what is blocking you having the life you want, and helping you remove those blocks. I want you to feel good about yourself, as that is the key to moving ahead and enjoying your life now. I give you a fresh perspective on yourself — I’ve never yet had a client who fully appreciates his or her own qualities until coaching is underway. My style is conversational rather than formal. We usually laugh a lot, even over the the most difficult issues. I’m straight-talking and will tell you what I really think. I give advice when appropriate, while also knowing from experience that people are most likely to act on the solutions they find for themselves. |
HOW MUCH WORK MUST I DO BETWEEN SESSIONS?There’s no must about it — you will want to. How much and what depends on your circumstances. Initially you will be doing a lot of thinking, and perhaps writing, as you work out what you want to change and how you want your life to be. You’re also likely to identify a number of actions which will immediately make a difference to the quality of your life. The more you do these the quicker you will feel the benefits of coaching. The pace depends on you. I don’t find pushing effective, I prefer to inspire you. If a client is never able to take action I suggest we stop coaching, as that’s a sign that it’s not the right moment for them. Sessions make you feel good, but if you don’t follow up, you’ll find the feelings won’t last. At the very least I expect you to fill in a form before coaching to tell me how your week has gone, and one after our call, where you summarise how you are going to take your commitments forward into the coming week. I am happy for you to call me in between our scheduled sessions to tell me news or to get some quickie input. If you get my call minder I’ll call you back when I can, usually within 24 hours. |
WHAT HOURS DO YOU COACH?I coach 7am - 2pm weekdays, and 8am - 1pm Saturdays. We have one call a week. The sessions last 45 minutes, though I always allow some lee-way in case we’re in the middle of something important. We continue our coaching conversations by e-mail. I find that clients who e-mail me most often are the ones who move on most quickly and get the most out of coaching, because they are focused on it. |
